DUI and DWAI

DUI laws can be complex. For me, they are second nature. I know where to look for holes in the state’s case. I know how mistakes made by the arresting officer can invalidate an entire case. And I know how to negotiate the best possible plea deal for my clients when dismissal is not an option.

CRIMINAL AND DMV CONSEQUENCES

Defendants have seven days in Colorado and 10 days in Florida to fight a license suspension before it’s set. That’s why it is important to account for both the criminal and DMV implications of a DUI/DWAI. I’ll start preparing both defenses immediately. And while many Florida or Roaring Fork Valley DUI lawyers hand off DMV work to an assistant, I’ll represent you at both hearings. In some cases, information we learn at the DMV hearing can benefit us in the criminal trial.

DUI, DWAI, and Dismissals

I’ll look for every way to dismiss or reduce your charge. Did the officer have probable cause to pull you over? Did any of the officer’s other actions constitute an unlawful arrest? How can we tell a story that presents you in the best light possible? I’ll ask all these questions, and more, as we explore every possibility to get you the best outcome.

REGAIN A SENSE OF CONTROL

Navigating a DUI/DWAI can be an intimidating, even dehumanizing, process. I understand the implications on a personal level just as much as I do on a legal level. I’ll walk you through every step of the process so you feel as confident, comfortable, and in control as possible.
